The school only provided me 20 uniforms for the boys but when I see the attitude and the desire of the other boys of being part of the team; I decided to buy 3 uniforms more for those that they lacked of it. It will be necessary for the boys to compete for a place in the starting line up showing me a lot of attitude and effort.
In February 8, 2008 we will have a soccer game in our Castle Park High School against Hilltop High School and in that same day there will be a very important school event, mainly at the half time of our game. I received this news from Ms. Macgregor about what is being organized and I learned of this excellent idea that had never been made before, taking into account a soccer team of our school. We will be attentive to cooperate as much as possible so that these celebrations are carried out in a great way in order that the school maintains and increase its education and culture functions with the complement of the sport activity in the community of Chula Vista.

Yesterday the boys played a good game. The score of 2-1 against Montgomery doesn't reflect what happened inside the game field. Castle Park was very superior and it should have won for more difference of goals, but this time and like it has happened other times, the referee that I don't want to remember his name, was doing all the possible ways to help Montgomery to score more goals, I really feel very disappointed that the referees are not fair and honest, he called us everything against us and with a lot of rigor, when he allowed them everything, even a kick that almost breaks the leg of Holguin . Those in charge of the referees should put attention to the capacity and honesty of the referees, since most of them are old and heavy people and some with very little sense of ethic and honesty. In order for growing of the popularity and quality of the soccer in USA, the people in charge should do more to improve the capacity and honesty of the referees in our favorite sport.
We play yesterday against Southwest High School, we tie to 3 goals, at this time we don't play well, although we had the score up 3-1 in the score board, at the end our mistakes were of good use from our rivals and they tied us. The goals were scored by Arturo Gómez (2) and Gustavo Fonseca (1).
Yesterday January 16, 2008 we beat Hilltop 2-0, but Luis Iñiguez came out hurt by a kick from a rival player . One of the referees was bad, but the other was worst, he called everything against us and also he invented fouls that we did not make.
Yesterday I had to carry Luis to take him out of the field and then the "Borrego" and Carlomar carried him to Julián Sesma's car who drove him to his house. I called him yesterday but he didn't answer, until some minutes ago I communicated with his aunt, she told me that she believed that the Doctor told him that he only had a strong blow in his ankle.
The other boys are well, fortunately, but with these referees we can have more people hurt because the referees are incompetent and corrupt. I say corrupt, because they are not impartial and they use the game's rules to their way to favor their personal interests instead to take care of the health of the young students.
We won today's game against Olympian H S, but it has been the match in which our game level has not been good. Most of the boys didn't play well, about three of my players maintained a good game level. We won 3-2 but we complicated ourselves the game by the excess of the boy's confidence and largely because the referees were incompetent, fat and slow. One of them seemed that he had eaten 5 soccer balls in his stomach, and never run during the game, those off side calls that he did or did not make good because he was in diagonal position, he never run to be in correct place, and the other one referee had their own game rules that he invented. We will practice this Monday although there is not class because is the day of Martin Luther King but we will work because on Wednesday we will have a game against Mater Dei that is very important to win.
Yesterday we won again; we played against Mater Dei, the score was 1-0 with goal of Ramón Sanchez. In the first time we begin badly, we didn't have control of the mid field, but starting from some adjustments the team improved and then we had the control of the field and of the game. In the Second half I made more changes that gave us a better control of the game and more possession of the ball, we had several opportunities to score, but we were not sufficiently concentrated. This time we played better and the team in general improved its performance.
The referees continue having many lacks in the knowledge of the game rules and their scarce physical capacity doesn't allow them to be near the action, they run very little and it seems to me that most of them have never played the soccer sport in their life.
Yesterday's game against Mar Vista, we played with an intelligent and intense form. The strong wind that we felt in that place so near the sea affects to play a good game. We need more work and time to play the way the boys know and they can, but every game give us the knowledge that we go advancing, that every game we play a little bit better.
I already knew that we would need more work and effort to find a good rhythm because we didn't have any one preparation game, because the Hilltop tournament was suspended and San Diego H S tournament began late. Therefore hardly we are getting game rhythm and the necessary joining for further bigger commitments.
Thanks to a goal scored in a very skilled form by Arturo Gómez we won the game 1-0. Regrettably the same Arturo failed other 2 score situations as well as Ramón, Jovanny, Pinal and Alfredo did not take advantage other opportunities they had. But at the end we left happy the windy field because we achieved what we wanted, to be the Trojans winners once again.
Some day we would have to lose but unfortunately it happened in our school. We didn't play bad, rather I would say that we played well most of the game, we had the control of the game all the second half, but we could not score and into the finish minute of the game in an attack Montgomery scored the victory's goal. I feel sad to have lost the unbeaten status in this season, but we learn from the defeats. And we will be clever for the next game on Friday. Today we won't practice. We lost 0-1 in the last minute, which hurts more.
Important was the victory of Friday against Southwest, because we came from an undeserved defeat and we wanted to confirm that we are playing well but we have not been able to score, having several opportunities to do it. We had begun badly when I noticed that the referees of the game would be one with 70 years old and with problems in the knee because he had an apparatus with metals and the other referee was a 19 year-old man.
As I said, many bad things of the referees against us that they allowed, the other player's team hit again and again my players, my defender Tony Ramírez was badly hurt it in his knee that I had to carry him outside the field and his parents took him to the hospital, he should rest at least one month and towards the player that hurt Tony, the referees did not even charged him with a foul call.
I should say that the referees demand the players and trainers not to claim, not to exclaim, not to speak and that we are 100% respectful of the rules of the game, when they are the main guilty ones that the students are injured by not stopping the violent game and for not applying the rules neither to 50%. When they earn a salary and in no way they correspond with capacity, which the trainers cannot demand. Many times the referees are partial to interests unaware of the fair game. That wrong attitude of the referees makes the youths a feeling of impotence and of lack of respect to the authority that the referees themselves propitiate.
Returning to the game of Friday, which we Castle Park High School won 2-1, means that the boys played with a lot of attitude and intelligence. We were better than them and the score board doesn't reflect the difference among the two teams, what is happening is that the goals that we should score we are missing due to precipitation.
In general terms we have been improving our game level but the referees allowed them to hit us and hurt my players, Tony Ramírez, Alberto Rodríguez, and Luis Iñiguez are those hurt.

Yesterday we crown ourselves for second year in a row as champions of South Bay of CIF
The game was played in the middle of a rain storm and a lot of air cold. But the truth is that we didn't feel so much the intensity of the cold because the concentration that we had, the players inside the field and those that we were standing outside with a lot of enthusiasm and tension, playing our game, supporting in what was possible.
We beat Mater Dei, in which team my son Hadrian plays, by the way he scored a goal by means of a penalty kick, which equaled the score board momentarily.
At the end, after having failed many opportunities to score, the game finished 2-1 to our favor. Congratulations to the young students and to all the people that have supported us to be able to be once again the number one.
It is necessary to point out that two referees are not enough t officiate a soccer game, one of the referees had 80 years of age, or at least this age he looked, so already you imagine him calling the plays of off side from the mid field, without having him a correct position inside the field. In short the referees are very strict in their rules but in fact they are not qualified and they are fat, slow and old.
Congratulations Champions!
Felicidades Campeones!
This is the shedule for the Division III
We deserved the No.2 seed but you know how politics are, but the important thing is in the field not in the office desk of some "experts" of nothing.
Cathedral Catholic (22-2-2, 10-0-0) earned the No. 1 seed and will have a bye week and then host in the quarterfinals.
Southwest SD (13-3-4, 9-1-2) earned the No. 2 seed and will have a bye week and
then host in the quarterfinals.
Mission Bay (10-6-1, 7-2-1) earned the No. 3 seed and will have a bye week and then host in the quarterfinals.
St. Augustine (10-8-1, 4-5-1) earned the No. 4 seed and will have a bye week and then host in the quarterfinals.
Santana (10-8-2, 6-2-0) will host Clairemont (11-6-4, 6-4-2).
Canyon Crest (11-7-1, 3-4-1) will host Montgomery (8-12-1, 5-6-1).
Castle Park (9-2-3, 9-1-2) will host Brawley (7-11-5, 7-2-2).
Crawford will host La Jolla (11-5-3, 5-4-1).
THis is what they say in
xk San Diego news about the play offs.
Div. III:
Cathedral Catholic, Southwest SD, St. Augustine and Mission Bay each get to sit out the first round with byes. Canyon Crest Academy hosts Montgomery and will lean on heavy hitters like Joe Murahata and James Stafford. Both teams went back and forth in league play. Santana and Clairemont have similar records overall and in league, giving neither team an advantage. Brawley travels to Castle Park to take on the Trojans, who have only lost two games this season. The Wildcats had a tough season except for league play, where they lost only twice. La Jolla ended its regular season with two shutouts, while Crawford ended its year with a loss and a tie. La Jolla has the momentum but must play the game away from home.
Div. IV:
The smallest division has no byes. Coronado took the top spot and will host Imperial on Wednesday. Imperial only won three games this season and Coronado should have no problem making it to the second round. La Jolla Country Day and star Zach Wolfenzon should have just as easy of a time with a Horizon team that won only four games. The Torreys only lost two games all season. Seniors Tim Costello, Will Peck and Tony Cairo will lead The Bishop's at home against Preuss. Knights goalie Justin Peabody has only improved as the season progressed, leaving little chance for the Tritons to score. High Tech High gears up to face Mater Dei at home; HTH should prove why it only lost four games all season. Holtville should encounter little difficulty hosting a Christian team that lost five of its last six matches. Div. IV's final three matches may be the only competitive games in round one. Santa Fe Christian hosts Guajome Park Academy; West Shores hosts Francis Parker; and Tri-City Christian hosts Escondido Charter. All of the pairings have similar records, putting advancement into round two up for grabs.-Julie Cudney

The team won yesterday's game, the strength of the team, the attitude of the team and the team decision of winning. The individualities yesterday didn't stand out for several reasons, but the team responded to what was needed, the victory.
We had a lot of happiness to see the athletic director Mr. Moore, the students, the family and the friends that supported us inside the Trojans stadium.
It gave me a lot of sadness to see one of the referees that was an old person and that he hardly could walk, he had a metal apparatus in his knee and about the rules of the game he knew practically nothing. The main referee let that too many blows were given and he didn't understand that the soccer is not a sport in which is allowed to demolish or to hit the rival with the idea of hurting them; my player Brian Lopez left the field hurt by an aggressive blow from a rival that the referee even didn't make a foul call. Also many fouls that the referees marked them in an incorrect way and in opposed sense. The referees are really an element that deters the advance of the soccer in US. It is incredible that the effort, time and money spent in preparing a team (hundreds of preparation men/hours, thousands of dollars) to reach an objective are cut short for a series of wrong decision of the referees with a physical incapacity and for the lack of knowledge, preparation and many times, honesty.
We beat Brawley H S. for 2 goals at 1. By the way the penalty that the referee called on us was caused for a fake dive of a visitor's team player, the referee accepted the cheating move and conceded a penalty kick, but the truth is that referees doesn't know about the soccer game because many of them never played the soccer or because they are not prepared to make a good enough job.
HS Boys Quarterfinals Preview
February 22, 2008
This is what XKSan Diego.com published today:
Div. III:
Cathedral Catholic devoured Div. I and II playoff teams early in the season like LCC and Westview, making the Dons an easy favorite for the division crown. Clairemont may have problems matching the Dons' intensity, even coming off a first-round upset over Santana. St. Augustine held Cathedral to one goal in its 1-0 loss the last week of the regular season, proving the team can handle pressure. However, Canyon Crest will put up a good fight. Mission Bay took on some larger schools early in the season to show it can keep up, which should serve MB well against Castle Park. Castle Park has its own accolades, beating and tying second-seeded Southwest SD in two meetings earlier this season. Southwest SD has only lost one game in its past 16 matches and Crawford will have to fight to make it past the Raiders to semifinals.
Div. IV:
Top-seeded Coronado easily overcame Imperial in the first round and now faces Holtville. Holtville also had an easy win in the first round, but Coronado is the division favorite at this point. Santa Fe Christian and Mater Dei both posted shutouts in the first round and will duke it out on Mater Dei's home turf. Bishop's comes into its game against West Shores hot after putting seven goals on the board in the first round against Preuss. La Jolla Country Day grabbed a four-goal shutout against Horizon and will try to do the same against Tri City Christian. Both teams did well in league, but LJCD heads in as the favorite.-Julie Cudney
I want to share with you these great thoughts.
Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others.
Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity.
The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our action to grow sharper.

Junior Alexis Guzman drove home two goals to lift Mission Bay to a 4-1 win over Castle Park on Saturday in the Div. III quarterfinals at MBHS. The Bucs came out strong and dominated the field for the first period of play, outshooting the Trojans, 8-2. The midfield was hotly contested and many possessions were won by the efforts of Mission Bay junior Tyler Jones. The Trojans had trouble in the last third of the pitch, and many drives ended without a shot being taken.
Mission Bay coach Joe Panian recognizes his team's character as a deciding factor in the match and excitedly anticipates the Bucs' semifinal game against Southwest SD, who he says has a similar playing style to his team. Southwest defeated Crawford 3-0 on Saturday. Panian firmly believes if his team plays with the same commitment they did against Castle Park, they could be looking at a spot in the finals.
Guzman started out the scoring in the 18th minute when he slammed one in close to the net. Six minutes later, junior senior Mauricio Flores added another when he intended to send a cross but found the right corner of the net instead. Castle Park came back from the break and began keeping paces with the Bucs. The momentum briefly swung in the Trojans' favor in the 42nd minute when Castle Park was awarded a penalty kick. Gomez Arturo lined up his shot perfectly, put the points on the board and brought the score to 2-1.
The Bucs (11-6-1) felt new pressure from Castle Park (10-3-3) after the goal and briefly lost their composure. The game became a much more physical match, and both teams had problems completing precise passes. Guzman took the reins and handed the momentum back to Mission Bay in the 65th minute when he knocked in a jumping header off of a perfect cross by senior Francisco Lopez. Sophomore Juan Nogales finished the scoring for Mission Bay five minutes later when Castle Park goalie Torres Ramon came out of the goal and dove for a ball as Nogales drove toward the net. Ramon missed, and Nogales easily finished the shot. Mission Bay outshot Castle Park, 15-7, and had an advantage in shots on goal, 8-5. Ramon had four saves, and his counterpart Michael Prado had three.
